Mentality, Mindset Problem or What?

Sometimes, when I think about it again, I can feel the heat in my chest.
To start off, I would like to let you know that this entry is related to my workplace aka school.

First,
When I first started working, they were all asking me to handle activities on weekends. FFS, it's a damn weekend, and I live more than 30 KM away from where the school. Logically speaking, I wake up earlier than most of you, and when work is over, I arrive home later than you people. Come to think of it, the one who asked me to handle the activity lives next to school

The excuse given was,
"you are still single."

So does that mean I have plenty of time?
What kind of lousy excuse was that??
I supposed that means I can be taken advantage of.
pfftt

Second,
They asked me how I manage my money. Well, you know.. As a freshie, the wage can be sufficient (or not) depending on how we spend the money. So I told them that I have to pay a sum of money for my car's installment.

They proceeded to say
"you must be rich. you don't have a family yet."

I would like to declare that I feel so sorry for their parents. Or parent.
Your father and/or mother spent so much on your education,
provided everything for you
making sure you get a good job.
Then when you got married,
and suddenly your father and/or mother
is not your family anymore.

I mean, come on. My mother is my family.
How could you say that I don't have a family yet.
You think I don't give money to my mother to spend for the household?
Not everyone is an ungrateful child.
And I have stray dogs outside my house to feed.
And my car? Of course I need to pay for the petrol too.
And health insurance.

Think a freshie is rich?
Just fucking think again.

Third,
Well this happened early this month. I figuratively had to stay back after the schooling session for
M - tuition
Tu - meeting
W - drama practice
Th - tuition
Yes, every day. By the time I was home, it was like 6:30 PM.
I swear it was so exhausting.
Now, don't tell me to move to a house near my school because my school is in a sub-urban area, and there is nothing there.
No entertainment, no mall.
Even the petrol station looks dodgy lol
Of course, living far from school is solely my problem

The idea of this third is,
again
asking me to handle an activity on the Saturday of that same particular week.

I was all chill, I could do it but just not that Saturday, man.
I have had enough of being in school till so late.
And I slept on my desk every day when I didn't have classes
because it was, honestly, super tiring.

That's just the idea lol
The main idea is I was told
"why not? you have so much free time. you don't even go to the mosque."

I got so pissed off right there and I actually responded something like
Even if I don't go to the mosque, it does not mean I have nothing else to do.

Let me remind you; I wrote "something like" above.
Believe me, it was harsh, I think.
I don't remember what else I said,
but my colleague was like
don't piss her off
lol they know how tired I was from the pimples showed up

On a side note, I thought
I could go to the Chinese temple, Indian temple and church if I would like to, and I could be the busiest person you will ever meet.

Fourth
This happened yesterday when my students surrounded me after they handed in their books (what good students they are). They were discussing with me about the T-shirt design which my class chose. There is a necktie design just below the collar and I said that it would not be visible once they've put on their tudung. One of them said that they could adjust the tudung to be above the chest level, to which I said that they have to tutup aurat and should not do that. Another one commented that my dress should be until ankle level to tutup aurat (my dress was at calf level, which is less than 6 inches from the ankles). So, I said that as long as I do not offend the clothing ethics, it is fine and besides, I am not a Muslimat.

Then this conversation took place;
A: Teacher, why don't you embrace Islam? It's nice.
B: Yes, teacher. Ustaz Syed* challenged us to make you embrace Islam. He said that if we did it, he would give away all his properties to us.
Me: He what?
A: Yes, teacher. He challenged us.

*not his real name
I was so surprised. Not because of the challenge.
This is my opinion;

Whether or not it is a joke,
one should never bribe anyone to convert into another religion.
Also, if it is really nice like you said,
surely others can see it and convert without being asked to.
And please don't ever beg anyone because it is pathetic.
Having an "ustaz" title and also a teacher, and educator in a school, yet you practise bribery among school students - It is so unworthy and embarrassing.
May your god show you the right way of doing things.

In my defense,
I don't think anyone should be made use of if he/she does not like it. Just because one is kind-hearted and perhaps pure, it never means that others should take advantage on that characteristic.

If you ever find yourself in such position,
by all means, please decline.
Learn to refuse.
If the other party will be happy and free from doing task initially assigned to him/her, but you feel the opposite, you have to ask yourself this:
Who is going to take care of your feelings if you don't?
Because by the end of the day, you only have yourself.
So please do not sacrifice your happiness, time or energy if you know that at one point you will regret something.
You must first take care of yourself and your well-being. Others can wait.
