[REVIEW] Shiseido Instant Eye and Lip Makeup Remover

I received this product as a sample/gift from my previous Shiseido purchase. It is oil-based and you have to shake it well before using it.

Here is a collage of my photos which I captured after my evening exercise. I still had eyeliner and mascara, as well as tint balm.

PERFORMANCE
Speed ★★★☆☆
It removes my liquid eyeliner pretty quickly, I still have to swipe it off three or four times before it is completely gone from my eyeline. However, gel eyeliner remains difficult to be removed. Not only that, but it stains my eye area too. I look like I had bad dark undereye. I wish it could remove gel eyeliner instantly, effectively! Whereas for the lips, I have to swipe it off for three times the most in order to remove lip product completely.

Scent ★★★★★
Scent-free! \( ̄︶ ̄)/

Safety ★★★★☆
It feels nothing when a little remover accidentally got into your eye. But if too much got in, it gives an uncomfortable feel to the eye. It does not sting, but yes, it makes your eye uncomfortable. So, you have to be careful when removing eye makeup.

Left: Only removed the right eyeliner
Right: Removed both eye and lip makeup! aka bareface

I am glad I have this sample. I do not use any special makeup remover. I only use wet facial tissue. I am happy that I have this sample to remove my gel eyeliner.

[REVIEW] Innisfree No-Sebum Blur Primer VS Shiseido Refining Makeup Primer VS Shiseido Glow Enhancing Primer

This is just a quick review to let you know about my final thought on the primers I have reviewed previously. If you wish to read it again, click here for the blur primer review, here for the refining makeup primer review, and here for the glow enhancing primer review.

I had conducted a small test to find out which of the three primers is the fastest to excrete oil. Before conducting, I predicted that the fastest will be the Shiseido glow enhancing primer and the slowest will be the Innisfree no-sebum blur primer. I used Gatsby oil clear sheet (oil blotter) as the indicator in the test.

This is how it looks like

I put a little of each primer on the sheet, like below

I started the test at 12:00 PM, as written in the photo.
I had combined the photos captured and inserted the time each photo was taken. You can see the oil excretion result for yourself. I had also enlarged the photo for you to see better.

The Verdict
The first half an hour had already surprised me. When I applied the blur primer, it worked so well and I felt that glow enhancing primer was the oiliest of all! I was so wrong about it! Even when I applied it on my face, I had to blot the oil from time to time!

After more than six hours, you can definitely tell me which one excretes the oil the most and the fastest. Even though the blur primer and refining makeup primer are able to hide the pores, but they don't do well as a primer compared to the glow enhancing primer. How delightful that the glow enhancing primer does not excrete much oil after more than six hours!

Final thought
Shiseido Glow Enhancing Primer is the best among the three! However, in my opinion, the only weakness it has is it barely hides any pore on the face. If only this is fixed, this primers is the one!

[REVIEW] Shiseido Glow Enhancing Primer

Here's another primer review lol
This time it is the Shiseido Glow Enhancing Primer - smoothes on for a vibrant finish. Oil-free. according to its box. Here we go:

I got this as a sample from my previous Shiseido purchase.
Don't we all love samples?

The colour of the primer is light yellow, and it is lighter and more watery compared to the former Shiseido primer I reviewed here. It permeates into the skin within a minute after spreading it evenly on the face.

PERFORMANCE
Glow Enhancement ★★★★★
You can really tell that your face does glow after the primer fully permeates into your skin! It really does stay true to its name, not a single doubt! The glow effect stays throughout the day! Perhaps if your face is in a darker tone compared to your neck, you can use this to distract the tone difference. So yes, it does nothing to the pores. No matter how big or small your pores are, they WILL NOT shrink even a millimeter after applying this primer.

Oil Control ★★★★☆
I think the major functions of primer are to prime and to enhance the glow on the face. Oil-free wise, not really. But I can tell you that the oil control of this primer is just as good as the refining makeup primer I reviewed previously.

Scent ★★★☆☆
The scent is exactly like Nivea's sunblock lotion. Wee bit unpleasant.

More than 6 hours after makeup

The glow never dies and lasts until the end of the day. Major win! =D

[REVIEW] Shiseido Refining Makeup Primer

Back with another product review, and this time around, it is one of Shiseido's primers!

I don't remember how I got this, but I believe it came along in a makeup set I bought in late 2013 or early 2014. It comes in a tube of 10 ml.

The primer is desert beige in colour, and yes, it is in cream form. Pretty thick too. I don't favour cream primer because I noticed that cream products, when applied oily face, makes the face oilier. *scream*. The primer makes the face fairer, so I don't recommend this for darker or pale skin pretty ladies out there. It leaves a smooth finish on the face.

PERFORMANCE
Pore Refining ★★★★☆
Surprisingly, its ability to refine pores is beyond my expectation. Small pores are covered up nicely and it makes the bigger pores less noticeable. The primer really stays true to its name!

Oil Control ★★★★☆
The oil production has slowed down. It does a better job than the Innisfree No-Sebum Blur Primer. It holds the oil production longer by more than an hour!

Scent ★★★★☆
It smells like any other face cream products out there.

NO FILTER
Left - Before primer
Right - After primer

Most of the pores are unnoticeable after applying the primer! I will buy this primer again if it isn't because it is a cream primer. What a shame it does not satisfy me just because it's a cream.

[REVIEW] Shiseido Sheer and Perfect Compact in 120 Natural Light Ivory

The Shiseido compact is one of the birthday gifts I got for myself this year, and I'll try to make this review a simple one!

I wanted to get  myself only the refill since I already have the case, but on the second thought, I should get myself a new case too, hahahhahhahahahhahahahahahahahahahahaha.

Please note that the compact and the case are sold separately.

The compact foundation is now housed in the a sleek refillable compact that comes in the shape of Shiseido's signature camellia. I like its identity because most compact cases are round and sometimes square.
✦ Look at its glossy top ✦

Don't you love how the black and matte nude beige make the case appear more outstanding?

The compact refill comes with a sponge and a protective sheet, too.

Okay, here's the real review.

Texture: ★★★★★
The powder stays true to its name, it is very sheer and absolutely light on the skin. It feels smooth and not cakey, and it gives a subtle glow too✶ My colleagues actually asked me if I applied any powder or anything before going to school because they just could not tell. However, if you are looking for a powder that is towards heavy-duty or can cover obvious imperfection, I won't recommend this.

Scent: ★★★★★
It is fragrance-free!

Performance: ★★★★☆
The powder is very handy if you are short of time, lazy or just want to have a very light makeup. I am always the lazy or the latter. Full coverage is never necessary especially because I am a teacher yet I want to make myself look presentable. This Sheer and Perfect is able to absorb and mattify excess oil on the face, and does a good job for touch-ups. Even though it claims to be suitable for all skin types, I personally feel that it suits better for dry, normal or combination.

Swatch:

Will I purchase again?
I have been using the Sheer and Perfect compact for years, and haven't thought of switching to another brand! YESSSSSSSSSS.

Please stay tuned for more reviews! =D
