*Lengthy post*
I usually write reviews of products I received or tried, but today's post will be on service experience~
I have always wanted my brows to be tidy or at least do not look bushy.
That being said,
I don't like seeing my brows unkempt, so I have to visit a beauty service shop to get my brows done.
However, I am not keen to make a visit once or twice every month.
After thinking for some time, I finally decided to get my brows to be semi-permanent or perhaps tattooed. Oh, I kid you not, I don't like going through pain. Tattoo, of course sounds like a horror to me.
I have asked a nail technician if she knows where I could do it in the town. She did suggest me one, but she did not recommend it because the brows of one of her customers went bad after a few weeks. I thought of maybe going to KL to get it done, I'm sure there are plenty of brow services there. Then, I started browsing beauty centres on FB.
So many shops.
So many reviews.
So many Crayon Shin-chan Brows.
I seriously do not like those straight brows. Some shops seem to offer Shin-chan style brows only and I don't understand why. Even when I looked at the pictures, I supposed slightly arched brows would look a lot nicer on the customers. Oh well, as long as they like the outcome of their brows.
Till I came upon a shop, and it looks okay, at least no Shin-chan brows.
And one of the reviewers is a Caucasian.
The brows look nicely done and the colour is really similar to the customer's hair colour, which is auburn, and I think they look really natural on her. The customer even left positive comment.
I must say that there's a bias there (Westerner approved = better). Luckily the contact number of the shop is there, and I sent a WhatsApp message to further inquire.
The business owner, Chantelle, has been very helpful since the day I contacted her, and her explanation was precise and easy to understand. I informed her that I am afraid of pain, and she assured me that the pain will be very minimal. Here's the procedure of getting the brows done:
1. Numb Cream (20 minutes)
2. Drafting brows shape (30 minutes)
3. Brows embroidery (1 hour)
The brows service Chantelle offers is the
Signature Misty Powder Effect Eyebrow Embroidery,
she guarantees that there will be:
- no bleeding
- no swelling
- no downtime
- minimal peeling
- least pain
- immediate natural result
To be frank, I was in doubt since all the brows service providers I came across before Chantelle (those providers who provide Shin-chan brows lol) also wrote the same thing. Speaking of Shin-chan brows, I told Chantelle that I definitely do not want them, and she also said that Shin-chan brows are not suitable for everyone as individuals have unique face features, and she designs brows that will only complement each individual.
Those words are a huge relief to me, and I decided to get my brows done by Chantelle. I wanted to see her on that particular weekend I contacted her, but her slots were all full and I had to wait until the following month.
Wow, I guess she's very welcomed by customers too!
And, the day I had been waiting for came..

Heck, I looked dead without makeup lol
I came with my sparse and untidy brows, which I tried to fix all the while,

Chantelle kept me entertained during the numbing process, and knowing that I am afraid of pain, she left the numbing cream on my brows for half an hour instead of the usual 20 minutes.
After that, she wiped off the cream and started trimming and removing unwanted hair on my brows. Then, she sketched the shape using her tools, which I think one of them was the eyebrow pencil. Before proceeding with the embroidery, she asked if I like the shape she designed for me.
The shape was okay, but my brows looked dark OMG
Chantelle told me that it's the tool she (the eyebrow pencil, I think) and the outcome will be natural. I was worry but convinced myself that "okay, it's just the colour of the eyebrow pencil she used to sketch on my brows."
After all, her review photos were great and customers like her. She has good reputation, so in Chantelle, I trust.
Next, here comes the embroidery. I thought of the needles as I waited for Chantelle to begin her work.
I felt surprised and glad, because the feeling and sensation of needle were almost absent. If I had to describe the pain, well, imagine lightly poking your skin with a toothpick. Chantelle checked on me and asked me several times if it hurt.
The sensation lasted for the first three minutes, I think,
then it gradually subsided.
It was so comfortable that I actually fell asleep XD;
Aaaaaaaaannnnddddd
I could say that I woke up with pretty brows XD
at about the 50th minute of embroidering, Chantelle woke me up and asked me if I am satisfied with the colour and shape, and if I wanted her to change anything.
I was surprised at the first glance because the brows look really pretty!
Honestly, I thought my brows were great!
However, as I was a few feet away from Chantelle, she could tell that the colours of both sides were slightly different, and she had me lied down again so that she could fix it.
What keen eyes she has.

She finished off by coating a layer of oil, I think, to moisturise the skin underneath the brows. Chantelle reminded me not to do any facial treatment, not to go to the sea and no sauna for at least a week.
She also gave me a sachet of protective oil for my brows, and gave me some tips on caring for my brows.
Question everyone wants to ask;
How much is it?
RM 880, inclusive of a complimentary touch-up within three months.

Post-Embroidery Experience
- Use the oil from the sachet given twice a day (once in the morning, once at night) to moisturise the skin. The oil from sachet can last up to seven days.
- For the first few days. it was painful when I washed my face, so be gentle and light when you're nearing your brows.
- On the third night, I started feeling itchy at the head and tail of my brows. I thought maybe it was bed bug. On the following day, I took a closer look at my brows.
It's peeling! The skin is peeling!! |
I almost forgot that Chantelle did tell me that the skin would peel. I wanted to peel the skin off so badly, but the skin of my brows were still a tad painful. So, I used a pair of tweezers instead.
Ayeeee |
After Touch-Up
According to Chantelle, the touch-up is best done
two months after the first session.
Ever since, I save my time when doing makeup since I can skip drawing my brows. Not only that, but it feels amazing to get praises and compliments from others regarding my brows.
It was funny how my students admired me about the brows and one boy even mentioned how on-point my brows are XD
My mom's friend also pointed out how natural and suitable the brows are on me since she had seen others with brows that made them look fierce and unapproachable.
Positive words indeed boost confidence~
