So, that was the theme came up by the chairperson of the Teachers & Staff Club of my school for the Teachers' Day celebration. When I first heard of the announcement of this theme, all I could imagine was sleeveless, bareback, dresses with slits.
Not appropriate to dress that way in school
Yes, I know, of course.
I searched for inspiration of modest dresses, vintage-y dresses etc on Pinterest. I did find some nice ones, but I kinda felt that those kinds which I like would cost a lot. Curse my expensive taste because I can never afford things I really like lol
Then, I went on searching on TaoBao, and actually found one I like. However, there was one problem.
The thumbnail shows a dust pink colour dress. I love pink. But the photos in customer reviews show brown dress.
No, I don't want brown.
And after looking properly at the photos provided by the buyers, I understood that the dress is actually brown, and would appear pink under the light. Or after filtering with apps lmao
I went on buying anyway, hoping I was wrong lol
But the dress really did turn out to be a brown one. I didn't like it, but since I bought it, I must wear it. The show must go on.
I was actually a tad disappointed because I couldn't wear whatever I like. I would totally wear something with Japanese feel. Anyway, I slew my dress with makeup. A pretty dress cannot be worn without a pretty makeup on the face.
By the way, there was really a red carpet and we had to walk the runway. I was glad about that red carpet because I thought that Red Carpet theme without an actual red carpet would be meaningless. I swear I looked up on the Internet about tips on how to pose. lmao
And I won the Best Dressed Award. I didn't know that there would be an award for best dressed male and female teachers. I also won other awards that I did not expect getting. lol
Me, as the Best Dressed (Female Teacher) and the Best Dressed (Male Teacher)
My student bought a cake and shared with a few others. I thought he was joking when he said that he would buy a cake.
Goodbye, diet.
This year's celebration is better than the years before since I started teaching. I had fun, and that's all that matters :)
