Frankly speaking, I had asked my wingman several times if I should really attend this particular soirée. If you have been following me closely on my Instagram stories and a few blog posts, you can tell that I haven't been healthy mentally, emotionally, and psychologically. I wanted to withdraw myself from meeting people, but wingman told me that I needed to spend some time outside, to distract myself. "It" is my thing and I need to do it for myself, wingman said.
And so I attended the Butterfly Coachella event, with an empty heart.
📷 Eros |
It was held at Hearty Party, a newly established event space in Setia Alam. Not only does it offer event space rental service, but Hearty Party also offers services like party prop rentals, party decoration and event organising! What is fun is there are also Arts & Craft classes held almost every weekend! Each floor of the building holds different excitement and surprise!
By the way, as the name suggests, this event was organised by The Butterfly Project! The theme was inspired by the western Coachella festival! Tammy the founder had always wanted to do this theme, and I feel happy for her that the Butterfly Coachella was such a great success!
Cool tag received upon registering myself! |
At the ground floor of Hearty Party, right in front of the registration counter was the Tagbooth photobooth where we could have our photos captured AND printed right away! Talk about speed-light service heheh
📷 Eros |
Look at numerous props available to make the shooting fun! You can catch a glimpse of these props on my Instagram story highlight!
The red strips backdrop just raised the party ambiance! But to be honest, I was skeptical about the outcome of the photo because the light source was behind the photoshoot area and anyone who has photo taken in this manner would appear dark. I gave it a shot anyway after Safinas coaxed me. The result was:
Fantabulous!
The colours look fine and I was surprised with the quality of the print too! The Tagbooth staffs there were friendly and asked if we were happy with our posing before printing the photo out. It's perfectly understandable that nobody wants to look awkward or less flattering in photos, so the staffs were very glad to assist and ensure that we (and everyone else!) were satisfied!
Rest assured, I got myself an individual photo too! You can see at the bottom of this blog entry~
By the way, if you know anyone who wants to have photobooth services at any event, please do check out Tagbooth. Other than the Signature photobooth service (the one I experienced, I believe), Tagbooth also offers services such as Green Screen, Light Paint, UV Glow and Ultimate Photobox Photobooths! I think the Light Paint Booth is the most interesting one, and the UV Glow Booth, which is the first in Malaysia, is super cool and totally out of this world!
In weddings or corporate events, if you upload your photo(s) to Instagram and use a specific hashtag at the caption, you can redeem a printed copy of the photo(s) at the Tagbooth! How cool is that! This Instagram Hashtag Printing service as well as Instant Gift Printing and Flower Bar will only make any event more meaningful! I think the Wedding Bouquet service is offered at a really reasonable price too despite the limited choices!
Anyway, back to the Coachella...
This was what I wore for the event
Photo taken in front of the entrance to the first floor |
My outfit was inspired by a pin I saw on Pinterest, and believe me, everything I wore from my head to my toes was chosen by my dear students. And all bought from TaoBao lol
When Safinas and I were done at the ground floor, we were heading to the first floor via staircase when we encountered this cool display.
📷 Eros |
So much rockstar chic vibe here!
The fashion on display was nonetheless by Voir, who was one of the sponsors!
The first floor of Hearty Party was a Pop-Up Carnival where brands and/or sponsors can display their products. That being said, this floor was where all the Butterflies got to discover different amazing brands! This was where the tag I received upon registration served its purpose, i.e. a redemption card.
ps: All gifts received from the Pop-Up Carnival had been photographed as one and you can see them at the bottom of this post
Right when I stepped into the Pop-Up Carnival, I was honestly lost because I didn't know which booth to visit first! However, something I love caught my eyes, and my feet dragged me to the booth on the left of the entrance door:
Flowers, by the Avantgarde Blooms
📷 Eros |
That love shelf tho...
I always find Emi's arrangements intriguing. Not to be bias, but if you compare her bouquet to other local florists', you can actually see that the others have quite a similar technique in placing the flowers and foliage. Whereas Emi's has a touch of quirkiness.
Perhaps that is the true reason behind Avant-garde;
bespoke blooms tailored for every personality.
📷 Eros |
At the Avantgarde Blooms booth, aside from being surrounded by flowers, I could also bring home a Kenya rose out of four colours. I don't remember all the names, but I chose the Nightingale, which was a burgundy colour. Only to realise it's actually purple under natural lighting. Damn warm yellowish lighting lol There were also several flash tattoo designs to choose from too! I didn't take any of it since I already had a few on my body that day.
My second stop was at a brand I am familiar with, but also not familiar with - the Signature Market.
I wrote that I am familiar with it because I have known the brand a couple of years ago when I was really committed in fitness for selling healthy and organic snacks.
I wrote that I am not familiar with it because I have never bought anything from this brand. Why, there were so many choices to choose from and I couldn't choose one.
Before I moved to the next booth, I stopped for a photo~
Being on cloud nine, I couldn't help but to walk in the direction of something aromatic. Anyway, have you ever heard of the Curmudgeon's Brew?
It was my first coming across this brand and my first time knowing about Peanut Butter Coffee! At the Curmudgeon's Brew booth, everyone had the chance to get to know more about the brand. It's a shame that I forgot to ask for the founder's name. She was really friendly!
My last stop at the Pop-Up Carnival was nonetheless the Voir brand. I am sure many Malaysians know about Voir, as Voir has been here since almost 50 years ago. I don't remember howold young was I when I started owning an apparel from Voir. One thing for sure is my mother likes Voir too, because the price is reasonable. She never misses any sale or discount.
Before exiting the Fashion Room, a VOIR staff asked me if I had chosen my bag.I was surprised that I could bring home a bag of my choice! And so I left the VOIR Fashion Room with my very first VOIR bag~
By the time I was done with all these booths at the Pop-Up Carnival, I was already feeling tired. Coincidentally, Tammy walked in and told us that the food was ready and we could help ourselves! I headed to the rooftop of Hearty Party via the elevator because I didn't want to use the stairs hahah
Speaking of Coachella and the related terms,
look at this lovely Bohemian style dining area
Located at the rooftop, everyone could add a touch to their dining experience by watching the sunset~
It was truly rejuvenating, especially in times of tiredness! It was sweet for my liking, so I only drank sip by sip. Nevertheless, thank you for the energising drink, Lérz'!
Now, back in action.
For the full view of all the food JomParty prepared for everyone on that day, please watch them on my Instagram story highlight~ I didn't eat everything, though. I know I wouldn't finish all.
There was an Artsy Party conducted by the Hearty Party Arts & Craft Manager! It was only for those who signed up, and of course I did because I like arts!
The difficult part for me was the beginning of painting where I had to give the fruit a shape. There was no pencil provided, meaning I had to paint without sketching beforehand. I think I did okay and once I painted the shape, everything else was not a problem anymore. The painting became more fun as Rawlins was seated at the same row as me. He is a joker and always makes everyone around him had a whale of time.
A little over one hour later, my masterpiece was completed!
As mentioned above, the bottom of the post is the compilation of all the goods I received during the Butterfly Coachella. Can you spot surprising products from the exclusive brands on Althea Korea? By the way I found out that VOIR had included two vouchers along with the bag I chose! The hand wash from Signature Market smells so good, and mom enjoys the snacks too!

By the way, I didn't know that Signature Market also sells essential oil
There were many more things I wish I could show you, but I couldn't since the shelf or display corner of this booth was actually high. Or maybe it's just my height hahah Nevertheless, do see what I saw on my Instagram story highlight! Signature Market gave me a goodie bag containing 3 different healthy snacks and an organic hand wash! I am happy that I can try the different snacks before making my very first purchase after so many years, and surprised with the hand wash! Didn't notice it until I got home and took them out from the goodie bag~
Before I moved to the next booth, I stopped for a photo~
I really love the rainbow background, which are actually sliding doors!
📷 Eros |
With the colourful sliding doors behind me, what was in front of me was what most of us are familiar with, the Korean beauty, trends and lifestyle destination,
📷 Eros |
There was a showcase of the products from one of its exclusive brands, A'Bloom. I was happy to see all the familiar A'Bloom products displayed on the shelves. If you remember, I wrote about the masks, blackhead remover and also the meringue puffs. Every single product had its individual display shelf (except the Giant and Baby puffs where both are displayed in one shelf). I was also surprised to see something new there!
Spot it?
It's new and latest Brow Wow Eyebrow Pencil! It was released just a week prior to the Butterfly Coachella and it was really cool that I could 'play' and swatch all the three colours! On one end, it is the droplet shape pencil, and on the other end is the spoolie~ Aside from the 2-in-1 feature, what I like about wow-ing my brow with this Brow Wow Eyebrow Pencil is how it is suitable for us southeast Asians! Those with oily skin type (like me) will love it as it is water+sweat+oil proof! Smudgy and melted eyebrows days will come to an end! The best part is each eyebrow pencil costs only RM 11! No kidding!
There were two display shelves for this eyebrow pencil, and by the way, I just had to have my photo taken with my favourite mask from the A'Bloom~
I like how the display shelves are all actually eye-level, making taking photos easy. Althea Korea staffs handed me all the 3 eyebrow pencils (OMG??!!!), as well as a box of surprise! I just couldn't believe it! If you wanna know what were inside the box, you should totally keep reading!

She brought a few jars of cookies for everyone to try too! There were 5 different cookies and the one I enjoyed the most was the Macadamia Dark Chocolate, which is actually the best seller! The other flavours were really awesome and yummy too! However, all the cookies weren't baked by Curmudgeon's Brew, but her friend who goes by the name Mouthful of Yummy on Instagram. So very kind of her to help promote her friend's business. Mouthful of Yummy is really delicious! Do check it out and restock your cookies!
Coffee Cake! I couldn't resist doing a flatlay shot! |
Curmudgeon's Brew offered four cold-brewed coffee. Other than Peanut Butter Coffee, there were Vanilla Coffee, Milk Coffee and Mocha Coffee. Everyone got to choose a desired flavour and on top of that, we were given a Sugar-free Valrhona Chocolate Milk too!
Apparently, the Peanut Butter Coffee was so popular among the Butterflies who attended, even I opted for it!My last stop at the Pop-Up Carnival was nonetheless the Voir brand. I am sure many Malaysians know about Voir, as Voir has been here since almost 50 years ago. I don't remember how
I do have a fun fact for all of you;
VOIR is actually pronounced as "wa".
I think VOIR should actually be listed in the Malaysia's Most Commonly Mispronounced Words list.
📷 Eros |
Have a closer look!
Growing up in a small town, I didn't know that VOIR actually sells bags too! The bags as well as the clothing are available online!
I just had to grab one of the bags and do my thing!
The yellow bucket bag is poppin'! |
Before exiting the Fashion Room, a VOIR staff asked me if I had chosen my bag.I was surprised that I could bring home a bag of my choice! And so I left the VOIR Fashion Room with my very first VOIR bag~

Before I took more photos, I had to grab a drink and refresh myself. After putting my bags at one of the cushions, I went to Lérz'.

There were two fruit tea choices, grapefruit citrus and mango peach. I opted for the latter~

It was truly rejuvenating, especially in times of tiredness! It was sweet for my liking, so I only drank sip by sip. Nevertheless, thank you for the energising drink, Lérz'!
Now, back in action.
Being at the rooftop in the evening, it was not warm at all. In fact, it was actually quite windy. The Bohemian setting made everything more comfortable and cosy~
After that, I went to get something I was anticipating for,
food by JomParty.
📷 Eros |
Because I had a good first experience trying JomParty during the Butterfly's 6th Birthday Party, I really looked forward to eat their food again~ I remember how I enjoyed their mini tarts the most, and I was delighted to see mini tarts again this time!
Here are some food photos~
📷 Eros |
For the full view of all the food JomParty prepared for everyone on that day, please watch them on my Instagram story highlight~ I didn't eat everything, though. I know I wouldn't finish all.
That mini burger tho~ I wonder if the patty was beef because I don't eat beef due to religion practice. Then again, if it was beef, it wasn't my first time eating it hahah. But this made me realise that there was no question asking if anyone's a vegetarian in the sign up form.
Anyway, the fried chicken was scrumptious! I love the potato too (not visible)! It was my first time having potato served that way~ I could only tell that black pepper was added in it hahah~
JomParty never disappoints me~
I realised that I should be racing against the time when I was eating half way. The sun was almost down, but I wanted this photo. Hence the dark face.
What would Coachella be without some live music?
Dining in the evening at the rooftop in such Bohemian setting without music would be dull, and for that, kudos to Tammy for walking up to a stranger and talked to him! Without Tammy, we wouldn't know Sidh Haizad Yusoff.
I think most of us enjoyed his singing! What was surprising was there was a duet with one of the Butterflies! Guess who?
📷 Eros |
IT WAS SAFINAS.
It explained why she had to leave the Pop-Up Carnival in a hurry. She had to rehearse! I had no idea about it and she was even sitting next to me when we were eating! Haha! The duet and the song they sang, I Love You 3000 was amazing. I recorded the whole performance but uploaded only a snippet of 1 minute to my Instagram story highlight~
Their performance ended the night,
but it was not all!
There was an Artsy Party conducted by the Hearty Party Arts & Craft Manager! It was only for those who signed up, and of course I did because I like arts!
The above photo was the only photo I captured before the painting workshop began. I was so immersed in painting that I actually didn't take any photo during the workshop.
The theme we had was fruits. Each of us could choose to paint either kiwi, orange, watermelon or pineapple. I didn't feel like painting any of the fruits actually. I wanted to paint lemon instead, so I asked the workshop master if I could paint other fruit. I was given green light, provided that the workshop has colours I need. I went to the colour station to see if there were yellow, white, and orange or brown. All were there and I was all set!
Lovely tepee! |
It's my first time painting on a canvas, and I made it more memorable by leaving my signature at the bottom right! Thank you Yana for being such a great workshop master~
I think the lighting didn't do me justice, so I edited the photo below to enhance the colours.
Still, the canvas in real life is nicer than in the photo XD
Mom hung it on the wall the next day and somehow I felt proud looking at my masterpiece. I feel that I should paint more next time and hang them on the wall~
And that's a wrap!
By the end of Butterfly Coachella, I was glad that I listened to my wingman and came anyway albeit feeling depressed and didn't feel like going out to see anybody. I had enjoyed myself at the event and felt lifted up meeting friends. I came with an empty heart, but went with a joyful heart. Once again, thank you Tammy for organising the event in the theme you have always wished for. While working on this post, I felt grateful and thankful to have been at the Butterfly Coachella, and happy for Tammy that it was a success!
As mentioned above, the bottom of the post is the compilation of all the goods I received during the Butterfly Coachella. Can you spot surprising products from the exclusive brands on Althea Korea?
