I believe the AHC (shorts for Aesthetic Hydration Cosmetics) brand is not an alien brand among skincare enthusiasts. Being the leading aesthetic skincare and #1 eye cream brand in Korea, AHC is in fact loved by Anne Hathaway, who doesn't seem to age at all! Speaking of aging, did you know that the first sign of aging actually starts from the formation of fine lines on our face? The sights of the laugh lines around your mouth as well as crow's feet at the outer corner of your eyes probably cross your mind right now.
I apologise if I am making you feel self-conscious! I mean no harm, and I want you to know and accept that aging is a natural science process. No one can run away from that, but what you can run away from is looking older than you are! I am going to teach you how using the AHC Eye Cream for Face in the AHC Beauty Ritual!

Before I begin, let's wind back to the past one week.
If you had gone through a rough one, I hope you will hang in there. Storms don't last forever and when things are over, you will see that whatever you are going through is actually a blessing in disguise. Try to find the good in the bad and hold on to it, no matter how insignificant it is. If there's none, try to create it. Know that I will be here to listen and go through with you although we may not be close to each other.
If you had a great one, I pray more good things come your way~

Notice a familiar logo?
If it wasn't because of The Butterfly Project, I wouldn't have such an insightful and informative weekend at the AHC Beauty Ritual Self-Care Workshop. It was great to slow things down and spend some time doing skincare with other Butterflies.
ps: skincare = Self-care

Now, sit up straight and take a deep breath. Put yourself at ease. To begin the beauty ritual, we definitely have to start with a cleansed face. Wash away those impurities like how you want the bad things to go away from you. Yes, they'll come back again, that is why it is important to refresh and renew your inspiration each day.
Next, grab your toner and apply it on your face. It is better to use a cotton when it comes to toner. Well, I don't mean that it is wrong to use your fingers, but a cotton will further help to wipe away the residue on the surface of your skin. You can opt for reusable cotton to avoid wastage~ I used the AHC Premium Hydra B5 Toner on cotton. As expected from the hydration line in AHC, it was refreshing and calming. There was also an instant radiant due to the smoother skin effect. Always remember to wipe in an upward direction.

I then paired it with the AHC Premium Hydra B5 Lotion. For your information, what is known as the (face) lotion is Korea (and Japan) is actually known as moisturiser in other countries (especially Western countries). It is important to moisturise after using a toner as it will help to fight the dryness that could be caused by toner, as well as to hydrate your skin. You may use your fingers and don't forget to smooth the lotion evenly.
Please note that a common mistake in skincare is stopping at just the face.We should never skip the neck since neck is also one of the body parts that tells a lot about a person's age. Again, we can't cure aging and fine lines, but we can prevent or slow them down.

Meet Lee Yann~ Spoke to her for the first time after crossing path for several times during The Butterfly Project's events hahah
If you subconsciously hunched back or slouched, please keep your posture straight again! We shall start the AHC Beauty Ritual now!
(Just in case you forgot, I used the AHC Eye Cream for Face in this Beauty Ritual).

Step 1
Application
Apply the cream in the form of line starting from your cheeks, forehead, nose, chin, neck and lastly your décolleté. Spread the cream evenly by using a brush or your fingers.
Step 2
Neck
Using the pressure on your palms, massage your neck from the front to the back. This step helps to minimise the visible neck lines.
Step 3
Face
Starting from the centre, stroke your face in an upward direction towards the temples with some pressure from your ring and middle fingers. Repeat the same from your chin along the contour of the jawline.
Step 4
Undereyes
Now, using your ring fingers, stroke lightly from the inner corners of your undereyes, increasing the pressure as you stroke towards the temples.
Step 5
Eyelids
Repeat Step 4 on your eyelids. Lightly massage the temples in circular motion and hold for a few seconds.
Step 6
Mouth
Massage along your laugh lines in a lifting motion using your middle finger from the bottom to the top. This step is of course to prevent laugh lines and to draw blood circulation to your mouth area to make your lips fuller.
Step 7
Nose
Apply pressure at the sides of your nose, then stroke upwards along your nose bridge and stroke away from the centre of your eyebrows. Remember to still keep your posture straight as this step will also help to strengthen your spinal muscles.
Step 8
Forehead
Form a first on each hand. Stroke your forehead upwards using the soft part between knuckles.
Step 9
Ears
Make a peace (or letter V in American Sign Language) sign on each hand. Place your middle finger next to the tragus (the small protruding part between the side of your face and your ear) and your fore finger behind your ears. Stroke up and down several times.
Step 10
Neck and Shoulders
While your body and shoulders face forward, look 45*to your left. Place your left palm at the soft part behind your right ear. After that, stroke downwards along your neck to the centre of your collar bone. Then, stroke away towards your shoulders. Do stroke with pressure to release the tension around your neck and lymph nodes. Repeat the same on the other side. If you are more comfortable starting with your right, you may of course do it.
Voila! That is the end of the AHC Beauty Ritual! You should feel more relaxed now because of the set of beauty steps. Please bear in mind that skincare is self-love, so I want you to enjoy each step you perform the Beauty Ritual. Take each touch of your finger as a way of showing love to yourself. Embrace every inch of your skin.
After the AHC Beauty Ritual class, there was a short Question and Answer session. I didn't get to share with everyone what I wanted to ask, but I asked the master trainer, Yee Ming (I mentioned her here~), for how long or how many set should I do for each step in the Beauty Ritual. According to her, it is completely up to us as long as we follow the order in the AHC Beauty Ritual.
By the way, AHC also presented every one a bag of deluxe items worth RM 300. I was happy to receive them because I had never tried any AHC product before until I attended this workshop! I'm thinking of adding the toner and eye cream into my skincare regime! I can't turn a blind eye on the radiance and glow it brings to my skin!
Since the workshop was also a self-care workshop, there was a slot on self-appreciation and self-love. The background music only made it more therapeutic and calming as we closed our eyes, reflecting on the past, present and thinking of the future. AHC also gave everyone a motivational quote and I thought it was really kind and thoughtful.
The workshop ended with a group photography session and light refreshment. I had some time to linger around and chat with a few people other than taking some photos. Here are some to show you:
I enjoyed attending the workshop and got to learn directly from the AHC brand manager the proper steps in increasing the effectiveness of skincare products, particularly the Eye Cream for Face. Now, I can have everlasting youth just like Anne Hathaway!
If you also fancy an AHC Beauty Ritual because learning directly is more effective and convincing, do join another workshop which will be held again soon! I previously mentioned about it here~
