Babbles ❤: Natural yet Cute Eye Makeup with Dolly Wink

Being a fan of Japanese makeup, I was so excited that Dolly Wink has recently released new lashes! It was in conjunction with the 10th anniversary~ A total of 16 designs for four occasions was launched in Japan on the 11.11, and a week later they're available in Malaysia! Thank goodness we can all buy the lashes on 4allbeauty!

Dolly Wink was first created from the determination of Tsubasa Masuwaka, who struggled to maintain her cute look all the time. She was and still is the iconic Japanese ギャル (directly read as gyaru) or "girl" trend model which depicts cuteness (girly), and she instantly became popular among many Japanese young girls after her first debut in the Popteen magazine in 2004. Her Dolly Wink fake eyelashes made their first appearance in 2009 and they were loved by many people around the globe. I am no exception heheh

Despite the current trends of eyelash extension and layers of mascara, Tsubasa and the Dolly Wink company in Japan, Koji Honpo, strive to get the fake eyelash back on trend and win the hearts of many again. True enough that eyelash extension is expensive yet has short "life span", and it damages the follicle. I definitely do not want to risk getting infected or blind from the chemical too. As for mascara, Japanese consumers have claimed that they find it tedious and troublesome to go through the same routine everyday. It takes time to apply and remove, and mascara tends to get lumps and drops over time. I totally get it! In order to overcome these problems, the new lashes are created to bring a whole new level of satisfaction with ease! It has been a decade, but Tsubasa Masuwaka doesn't seem to age at all LOL

I was lucky to be able to attend the Dolly Wink event, organised by Koji-honpo Malaysia and The Butterfly Project last Saturday at Kakiyuki! Everyone was required to go without eye makeup because we would have Dolly Wink Eye Makeup Contest there~ I was really looking forward to attend it because I planned to dress up in Lolita to go with the dresscode, Kawaii Japanese Christmas.

It was so soft and jiggly and I love it!!!

The daifuku set consists of matcha strawberry, goma, chocolate, yuzu honey, yam and genmaicha. I didn't enjoy this very much because the daifuku sticks to the doily paper. I couldn't taste it properly :/

I swear the rolls are so soft and delicious! I am already missing it!!! I must come back for the rolls one day!

We were served hot green tea too! It was great to have the warmth combined with sweet dessert!!

Christmas vibe in Kakiyuki~

The event started after 1 p.m., with speech from Leonard and Tammy, the founder of The Butterfly Project. They introduced everyone about Dolly Wink and the new lashes. Referring to the first image in this post, you will see the phrase "easy lash". On top of it is the Japanese phrase that translates as lashes extension in 10 seconds. In other words, the Dolly Wink lashes are easily fixed in merely 10 seconds. Hence the tagline "easy lash". We should be all thankful for how quick we can fix the lashes on our eyes!

After the speech was the Dolly Wink Eye Makeup Contest.

All of us were required to do the eye makeup on only one eye in 30 minutes so that we could see the differences. We also had the chance to use Dolly Wink products given and prepared~ There were 2 mirrors, eyelash curlers and two different eyeshadow palettes, Silver Grey and Shiny Brown for four people to share. And by the way, we also received a goodie bag of Dolly Wink items worth RM 250!!! Here's what everyone got~

What I noticed in the new lashes is they are a lot more natural and have shorter lash band. I was really surprised because the older ones are long and I had to trim the lash tail to fit my eyes. Out of the four designs, I wanted to try the #6 design which has more volume and density. Despite that, it was really natural and didn't stand out when I put it on. Then, I settled for design #16 which gives a rounder eye look.

I have to admit that it was my first time using a Dolly Wink eyeliner. Although I'm not a big fan of black eyeliner, I was pleased that the Melty Gel Liner has a soft brush tip that feels smooth and doesn't hurt the eyelid. What I like the most is it is waterproof! I only found out about it when I wanted to remove the eyeliner swatch at the back of my palm using my wet tissue. I had to rub several times and my skin turned slightly red LOL and a few days later when I read the eyeliner properly, I found out that it's a gel type.

When we were done with the eye makeup, we got to eat the shaved ice with our partner~ My new friend, Liz ordered a Matcha Brûlée for the both of us~

The brûlée on top was crunchy and tasted superior hahahah the matcha was good, and there were red beans in it~ Liz thought that the matcha was tasteless, but it was fine with me. When the contest was over, we could complete the eye makeup on both eyes. I forgot to capture my own photos as I was busy recording. :(

Here are the faces of the Dolly Wink Eye Makeup Contest winners~ Congratulations to all of them~ Each of them won a RM 100 online shopping voucher, if I'm not mistaken. That's really great since there are so many year end sales, and the 12.12 sales, and to be given the shopping voucher is just killing two (actually more!) birds with one stone!

What surprised me was there would also be 3 Best Dressed winners! I didn't know about it because I didn't check the event information prior attending. I was sipping my melted Matcha Brûlée when my named was announced. I SWEAR I JUMPED.
